Boys Behaving Badly - Here...There...Everywhere

I know that you've been waiting for me to weigh in on Weiner
but he is just so pathetic that it's almost not worth commenting on
I do feel bad for his anorexic and now pregnant wife Huma
She didn't deserve a sexting scumbag for a husband

I'm so very tired of the ruling elite,
Republicans and Democrats both
with their 'do as I say, not as I do'  behavior
How do these elected officials have time for the sophomoric silliness of sexting, online flirting with underage girls and posting their photos on twitter and craigslist...
to the even more serious impregnating their of housekeepers and then keeping them under the same roof as their wife?

Unemployment is at Depression Era levels, the dollar is crashing, the deficit is exploding and the economy is imploding and yet these men seem to have all the time in the world to frolic around like overgrown frat boys while picking up a generous paycheck (and benefits) care of the US taxpayers.

Government boys behaving badly isn't just just an American issue
as we all know from Dominique Strauss Kahn.
And once again, it isn't a Left-Right issue
it's all about getting away with it
Take Italy's Silvio Berlusconi

He makes Dominique Strauss Kahn look like a light weight!
Do not miss Vanity Fair's All Broads Lead To Rome
Not only does the ancient Berlusconi have a posse of women who pander for him
providing a nonstop carousel of young (and some underage) hookers,
he then places these women in positions of political power.

here is a photo of one of the women Berlusconi nominated to the European Parliament
she certainly looks qualified doesn't she?

I believe in karma so I can sleep easier knowing that there is a special place in hell for such detritus
but I do feel sad for the citizens of Italy who don't deserve such a leader.

Vintage Turquoise and The Other Topic of the Week

Janet over at The Gardner's Cottage has been busy this week.
First she posted her amazing recipe for artisan bread
Doesn't this look amazing?
I may actually attempt to try making it this weekend
Then she posted fabulous photos of her favorite Ralph Lauren looks
and included this image of her vintage turquoise jewelry

Great pieces aren't they?
Of course seeing her jewelry inspired me to post some pictures of moi

And back to the topic of the week

A Narcissistic Clique With A Monstrous Sense Of Entitlement

This is the week that keeps on giving, isn't it?
Gawker has been all over the Schwarzenneger story
including publishing a photo of the housekeeper/other woman/mother of the love child.

and the Daily Beast...yes I get my scandal news from the best sources...
has a well written article on DSK.
The Narcissists Defending Dominique Strauss-Kahn by Michelle Goldberg

So this is the dark side of the famed French sexual sophistication. For decades now, American liberals, myself included, have bought into the notion that the discreet French approach to the private lives of public figures is superior to America’s tabloid Puritanism. Often, after all, the same qualities that make men effective leaders—ambition, grandiosity, love of power, and an unquenchable hunger for affection—make them bad husbands. The French system of accommodating this complexity seemed admirable, especially during the years when Bill Clinton was nearly hounded out of office for a seedy but consensual affair.

But the aftermath of Dominique Strauss-Kahn’s arrest puts the French approach in a rather different light. Rather than evidence of liberality, the silence that protected Strauss-Kahn seems like a conspiracy allowing a powerful man to prey on powerless women. And the apologists for Strauss-Kahn, like the egregious Bernard-Henri Levy, reveal themselves not as worldly humanists, but as members of a narcissistic clique with a monstrous sense of entitlement.

A narcissistic clique with a monstrous sense of entitlement
what an excellent description

In a piece published, alas, in The Daily Beast, Levy, erstwhile defender of admitted rapist Roman Polanski, declared himself outraged by the treatment his friend Strauss-Kahn was subjected to after his arrest on charges of attempted rape, sexual abuse, and unlawful imprisonment. “[N]othing in the world can justify a man being thus thrown to the dogs,” he wrote. If Levy wanted to argue that the American justice system is brutal to all those caught up in it, that it treats people in a way at odds with the presumption of innocence, he’d have a point. But his argument wasn’t so universal. Instead, he raged at “the American judge who, by delivering him to the crowd of photo hounds, pretended to take him for a subject of justice like any other.” As opposed to what? If our criminal justice system is indeed refusing to accord special treatment to a rich and powerful foreign official accused of attacking a maid, surely that is to its immense credit. That Levy believes otherwise should forever disqualify him as a credible champion of democracy.

Of course, I am not a fan of BHL for a multitude of reasons
including the fact that I just can't take seriously a man who poses with his shirt as such
Bernard-Henri Levy in all his brawny Gallic glory
Can you?

Take Ivy - Don't Date Ivy

Another amusing post from Dealbreaker.com
about a dating site that connects Harvard  B School boys with non Harvard babes
Have Women Pay To Worship Your Harvard Business School Educated Ass
The new dating site matches males who have Harvard MBAs with discerning females who do not. The best part, if you’re a cheap bastard and/or really taken by yourself, is that all the men have to do is sign up, free of charge, and the chicks have to pay for the honor of possibly dating you.

Dealbreaker's sister site Above The Law had this post about DateHarvardSQ
Date Harvard Men Without Streetwalking Down Mass Ave
You know the old joke: How many Harvard men does it take to screw in a light bulb? Just one; he holds the bulb in place while the world revolves around him.

Now there’s a dating site dedicated to bringing the Crimson and their sycophants together. As they say in Wicked, “they deserve each other.”
Some of them think that just by dint of having gone to Harvard, people will love them, respect them, and shower them with jobs and money. They even make up special phrases for mentioning where they go/went to school, like “dropping the H-Bomb.”  Good God, get over yourselves.

As Bess pointed out, the beauty of the site is that women have to pay — and, one would hope, engage in some sort of oil-enhanced wrestling match — for the opportunity to even send an email to Harvard guys. That’s right, throughout mammalian evolution, the males have battled for the right to access females; but I guess once you go to Harvard, you can tell Darwin to suck on your prestige.

The BHB take on all this
Leave the effete Harvard boys to their sycophants and stick with Stanford men!
