h&m conscious collection

ever since hannah macgibbon introduced scallop hems in her collection for Chloe, i've been lusting over anything with that very feminine detail, yet found it very hard to find something similar to those shorts and dresses...until now. H&M's upcoming Concsious Collection is basically the Chloe collection from a few seasons ago, at a much smaller price. made with organic and recycled fabrics, the white and cream collection of eco-friendly spring pieces resonates everything a girl needs for the coming sunny season.
all white everything - maxi skirts, flowy tops, crochet & eyelet, and sleek blazers and trousers - and all under $60! i'll take one of everything please.

can't wait til all this comes out in April!

organic cotton dress $49.95

recycled fabric dress $49.95

organic cotton vest $9.95

recycled fabric blazer (LOVE THIS!) $49.95

organic cotton top $24.95

organic crochet shorts $29.95

recycled fabric shorts $19.95

organic cotton maxi $19.95

organic tencil pants $34.95

HOLD ME CLOSER TINY DANCER

It's been one day short of an entire month since my last blog post. If it wasn't for Sophia and her continuation to contribute, this could've been considered a hiatus. But alas, here I am -- fresh from a 2.5 week trip to Vietnam and Thailand, and bombarded & overwhelmed with ALL the fashion week fashion shows I opted to not look at while on vacay. (plus, muchmuchmuch to catch up on at locale)
Slowly, but surely  I will eventually get through all the amazing things to look forward to next spring. So far, so amazed. Loving Hannah Macgibbon's tiny ballerinas that tiptoed down the ChloĆ© show -- an up-rise in extreme flats do I see?

Oh blogworld, how I've missed you.

p.s. i'll be posting some photos from my trip as soon as i have the energy to flip through the 2000+ pictures i took.

SCENT OF A LADY: HANNA + ANNA

LOVE, ChloƩ //

since hannah macgibbon's debut as the creative director at chloƩ with her spring 2009 rtw collection, the quintessential brand for luxury ready-to-wear has resurrected itself to be one of the most highly-coveted, it-girl commodities alongside chanel and balenciaga. there must be something in the water at chloƩ headquarters. from karl lagerfeld's reign in the '60s (and part of the '90s), to stella mcCartney, then pheobe philo (now, of Celine), these design legends have all gone to mayjah success since leaving their chair at chloƩ.

hannah brought back the modern, ladylike yet quirky separates. hannah brought back the IT bag (paddington, paraty, heloise, anyone?). hannah brought back a signature scent (eau de parfum - the first one for the house since karl). hannah now is giving us a new fragrance - LOVE, chloƩ.
raquel zimmermann, the muse Love, ChloƩ
"LOVE, ChloƩ is a celebration of radiant, generous, spontaneous femininity. Free and graceful movement. Contagious beauty"

hannah macgibbon's first collection for chloƩ (spring 2009 rtw).
cheeky separates, paperbag waisted shorts, pleated trousers, creamy colors,
and scalloped edges

BEYOND by ADR//

anna dello russo, style icon who NEVER wears the same couture twice & editor-at-large at vogue nippon is releasing her very own fragrance, called BEYOND, the scent by ADR.

and what will it be like? "a GOLDEN shoe will contain a fragrance of vanilla and almonds"
perfume or not, i've never wanted to smell like a shoe until now.

to be released by christmas 2010.

who else can pull off an unlined lace dress by dolce & gabbana with red silky undergarments during fashion week? the one and only, ADR.

and now, a few words from ANNA:

what is the biggest challenge facing fashion editors?

"To not get old! Fashion keeps me young and keeps my eyes fresh. I have to update myself every morning. I'm so curious about all the visionary phenomena that changes the contemporary scenario. I call myself "the vestal of fashion" because for me fashion is a muse and you must seduce her. How? You have to feed the creative fire so it doesn't vanish." -- ADR

i am inspired. ..

IT'S IN THE BAG

for some, a handbag is a sack made of faux leather or nylon or canvas with fake plastic metal fixtures and zippers and occasionally is an obvious-to-spot imitation of the handbags that others (like us) collect and view in the highest regard to fine design and fashion. if it hasn't been stated yet, our family is a family of purse gatherers. leather, croc, ostrich, patent, suede...you name it - we love it.

one of the reasons i love the changing of the seasons (or better yet, a preview of the changing color palettes of the next season via fashion week) is to have an excuse to buy a new purse/clutch/wallet. and 0h the options. personally, i am a classic kinda girl. gimme a 2.55 or a city in any which colour and i'll be happy. it's no wonder our favorite designers stick to their signatures.

i say, if it ain't broke, just change the color swatches...

a model sneaking off with the latest chloe's right after the show..
lush & layered clutch. the texture gives some oomph to the muted,
understated brown
balenciaga arena giant envelope in bois de rose with the NEW rose gold hardware - $1025.
this one is definitely on my wish list.
the givenchy nightingale in fall's new navy - $1910.
always had a little crush on this baby...but it's a little on the larger side.

FFft: ChloƩ cravings

CHLOE'S ZIMMERMANN//THE PARATY//CHLOE SHADES//YOUR OWN PADDINGTON

a candid interview with raquel zimmermann, chloe's spring/summer 2010 spokesmodel..walking around the tuileries garden in paris, talking about how she decided to retire for a season, but jumped at the chance to face chloe's new campaign. i love it when she said "chloe is like candy". girlfriend is soo right. chloe gives me a toothache too :)
a blue oxford shirt, nude stirrup leggings, leather sandals, & the mercie. so simple. so genius. lovelovelove!
yes, i do own one already. but, just like the balenciagasthat sophia and i both tote around, i feel like the paraty is tied with them neck and neck for the most beautifully constructed, versatile, & durable handbag out there. next on the list: luxe skinned in white.
i'm not one to invest so much in sunglasses...i just throw 'em around and would probably lose them by clumsily leaving them behind on the checkout counter or restaurant somewhere. but, if i were to choose a pair (or two, or three), i'd definitely go with a couple acetate frames, like the tilia or cat eye myrtres from chloe's spring/summer collection. where to get them? 80spurple has 'em all!
and a few parting words to our once beloved PADDINGTON:
paddington, when we first laid eyes on you, we fell in love. your gleaming leather, your brushed golden hardware, your 10-pound lock, and the key that unlocked our hearts. but now, we're sorry to say that we must part ways. we've moved on and so should you. hopefully someone on eBay will find you and treat you like the gorgeous satchel you are. <3

have a lovely weekend everyone!

purely amazing.

miu miu + chanel + chloe = ZARA's SPRING 2010 LOOK BOOK.

i think i just died. from the babydoll-collared, allover kitten-printed dress (how MIU MIU is that?!) to the TDF (to. die. for) twist on Chanel's ubiquitous clogs, to the neutral tones of a Chloe-inspired collection of hobo/militaristic dresses, loose pants, & long skirts, I must say that I would wear every single piece. The way we can mix and match all these Spring/Summer trends is so FUN. seriously, who needs to be loud in bright colors and over the top floral prints all the time - it's so predictable! No. Let's keep it fresh and timeless. I've always been a black/grey/white/tan/brown/beige person so you can imagine how psyched I am right now.

Bravo, Zara. You've made it possible to wear off the runway looks for not the runway prices. L-O-V-E.
